Introducing HealthClick: free digital skills workshops to help you manage your health online
We're delighted to be offering free, face-to-face workshops across Bristol to help older adults develop their confidence and gain the skills they need to use online health services.
We'll be running drop-in sessions, plus working with individual GP practices to help people manage their health needs independently. Our Health Click workshops will enable people to find trustworthy health advice, and provide information about staying safe online.
Through 1:1 support, the workshops will help people learn now to use services such as the NHS app and Patient Access. We'll talk you through connecting with your GP practice, and demonstrate how to:
- book GP appointments
- order prescriptions
- access online consultations by phone or video
- view medical records
- receive test results
- download your COVID-19 pass
Wonderful assistance. Thank you! It’s opened up a whole new world to me. Many my age [85+] would benefit.
We've also put together a 'how to' guide, with step-by-step guidance on using online health services. To download it, click the pink 'Download' button below.

The Health Click sessions will connect adults to trusted apps that help manage specific health conditions. For information about the kind of apps we recommend, click here to visit the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Health and Wellbeing App Library. These apps have been rigorously reviewed by the NHS, so you can feel safe and confident using them.
We've recently partnered with Brunelcare, and are working within their reablement centres to provide residents with the digital skills to manage their health needs once returning home. As part of this partnership, we’ve started to train Brunelcare staff so that they can support residents outside of the Health Click workshops.
We’re also helping to establish wider-reaching digital skills workshops. Collaborating with groups such as Bristol Older People's Forum and St Werburgh's Community Centre to host these sessions will provide older adults the foundation skills they need to access online health services going forward.
