A big hearty thanks to all our volunteers

We are celebrating Volunteers' Week June 1st to 7th by saying a big thank you to our 30 volunteers and 7 trustees who help us at Healthwatch Bristol, North Somerset and South Glos.

Their work is impressive; from helping us shoot our new video to spreading the patient voice at local hospitals, working to raise our profile at GP surgeries and even developing our new North Somerset website.  Due to Covid-19 we have been unable to hold our Volunteer Celebration Event, planned for June, but instead we have sent all of our volunteers personalised thank you cards to show our appreciation.

New ways of working

We are checking in with them while at home and identifying ways in which they can continue to contribute remotely.  For example, they will be helping us by carrying out telephone surveys, representing Healthwatch at virtual meetings with partner agencies and continuing to participate in our Prioritisation Panels.

Healthwatch England's National Director Imelda Redmond thanks volunteers for their vital contribution in the short video below.

We are lucky at Healthwatch to have some knowledgeable and committed volunteers who have been with us for a long time and have a good understanding of what matters in health and social care across Bristol, North Somerset and South Glos. They are keen to ensure that we work together to improve the quality of services and I am always in admiration of their desire to raise standards. Huge appreciation from myself and the Healthwatch staff team.
