Maternity & Neonatal Voices Annual Report 2023/2024
Our local Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) listens to the experiences of women and families across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. It brings together service users, staff and other stakeholders to plan, review and improve maternity and neonatal care.
Last year the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) MNVP heard from 262 mums, birthing people and families.
Healthwatch BNSSG took on the three-year MNVP contract in the spring of 2023. The MNVP annual report sets out what they've been up to over the last year, including:
- Hosting Facebook Live webinars
- Promoting the need for online peer support for dads
- Taking part in a six-week anti-racism training programme
- Launching an antenatal education survey asking about experiences of antenatal education, the quality and availability locally. The survey was completed by more than 300 people, and their responses which will be used to improve services.
- Visited Southmead Hospital and St Michael's Hospital, asking staff about the organisation and hearing from services users.
